Ductile Iron Grades

Ductile iron has much more impact and fatigue resistance, due to its nodular graphite inclusions.

Presence of graphite in spheroidal form, explains why this part of the group of materials is known as nodular cast iron or spherodial graphite iron, too. Nodular graphite structure are achieved mainly via magnesium treatment in production process.
